Bones as we affectionately called him - but only because there were no other words
to describe him. We rescued bones in a way you might describe as unconventional
- but nevertheless rescued him anyway. Bones had spent the first years of his
life tethered with a short chain in a starving state. He was only in our care
for a short period and responded well to a lot of love and caring. By the end
of the first week in our care, bones had started to put on weight, but more importantly
he regained an interest in living. He was a most beautiful well behaved
boy just craving for a little love. For each little bit of care we gave him he
returned tenfold with his eagerness to please us. By the end of the second week
we had found Bones his new home - we have visited him since he moved into
his new home and he is doing great with his new family. This is by no means
a long and involved story - but it is a story with a happy ending and we are honoured
to have been involved. There will always be a place in our heart for Bones
and we wish him the best |
This little fella we found a home for , he is deaf , but has made his new owners a
great pet and companion, he now responds to hand sigenals very well |

This little fellow
is the inspiration to the making of this "Donation Page". He was brought into
us in a very emaciated state and with obvious injury's to his back leg.
After a vet examination and x-rays, it was found that he needed surgery
on his hip and knee. The Refuge asked the media to assist with a fund raising
campaign, to raise enough funds to provide the necessary treatment
The response was overwhelming and the funds were raised for his surgery. All is well, but this exercise was a lesson for us not to run the refuge on a day to day , week to week basi., We must have funding for emergency's on hand. Just in case of the unexpected accident victim, or unexpected illness, or tick victim who is brought to us. We were once able to sit in the street and sell raffle tickets to raise some funding , but with the expansion of the refuge and ever increasing volume of animals coming to the refuge, we simply don't have time to organize and sell tickets. Our cost of cleaning agents, dips and shampoos, phone bills, vet bills, even fuel, etc etc etc are rising all the time, so we are finding it harder to supply the care needed for all our little furry friends. You can help , it doesn't have to be in a big way just a small donation by many would do the job, so if you can help please do Thank You |
This the happy ending for our little friend now known as "TEX" These are his new
parents, who have taken him into their home for what could only be described as
a happy and care free life. |
"BONES" meets his new family. What a difference a bit of love and care can do. |
